Linzy Slayden, Jr. Pastor Slayden was born in Moline, IL and raised in the Quad-Cities area until moving to the small farming community of Cambridge in his junior high years. It was there that he graduated from High School, and met and married his high school sweetheart, Carla. The Slayden’s were married on October 13, 1973 in Cambridge, IL. They have four children and 12 grandchildren. He enrolled at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO in 1979, graduating with honors in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. Slayden also holds a MM and MABS from Temple Baptist Seminary in Chattanooga, TN. He has served the Baptist Bible Fellowship International on both state and national levels. He served as the First Vice President of Missions for the BBFI; as State Representative for the Oklahoma Baptist Bible Fellowship; as Field Representative to both Brazil and Kenya. He also served as a trustee of Baptist Bible College and one year as chairman. Most recently he completed two terms as the President of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. Linzy Slayden has been pastoring Friendship Baptist Church since the third week of July in 1992.
